The Compliance Specialist Intern is responsible for assisting the Compliance Manager with maintaining compliance with all environmental regulations and permits. Why work for Clean Harbors?

    • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
    • Assist the Compliance Manager with the preparation of reports and conduct on-site inspections, in compliance with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act.
    • Responsible for archiving old files as directed by the Compliance Manager.
    • Review facility permits to gain an understanding of the permit conditions/limitations.
    • Keep abreast of the regulations/regulatory requirements by reviewing corporate compliance Q & A summaries describing regulatory changes.
    • Maintain environmental compliance files.
    • Notify Compliance Manager of incidents/accidents . Qualifications
      • Enrolled in Environmental Science or Management Degree program
      • Current student working towards bachelor's or master's
      • Knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) laws/regulations
      • Critical thinking: ability to identify the right audience, message, and goals
      • The desire to learn and master new skills
      • Analytical mind; Intermediate PC/Excel skills Required, Advanced Excel skills a plus
      • Ability to handle multiple priorities
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality
      • Strong attention to detail
      • Strong written and verbal communication skill
