Job Description
The Process Engineer will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes to improve quality, reduce costs, and enhance production efficiency Surfaces. This position involves analyzing current processes, implementing improvements, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operation in a fast-paced environment. The Process Engineer will collaborate closely with production teams, quality assurance, and maintenance to drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Analyze production data and identify areas for process improvements or cost reduction initiatives.
- Implement new technologies or processes to enhance production capabilities and reduce waste.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process and product issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Create and update work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process documentation.
- Trouble shooting press, quality training for associates daily.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen events.
- Press checks such as grease pencil checks, thickness test, temp and settings checks and changes for all presses consistently every day.
- Leadership training and career progression training of supervisor's leaders and all shop associates.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).
- 3-5 years of experience in process engineering or a related role in a manufacturing environment for SMC/BMC.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and process simulation tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
- Hydraulics/press knowledge of HMI for adjustments.
- Programming of presses. creation of PLC programs for various tonnage types.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Lockout Tagout management / Plant safety / Associate safety.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, heat, and other elements.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift heavy materials as necessary.
- This position operates within a manufacturing facility and will require time on the production floor and in an office setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
