Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced Comptroller (Financial Controller) to join our team and ensure the financial health and operational efficiency of our behavioral healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting, finance, and team leadership, with proven success in managing financial operations, developing strategic plans, and overseeing fiscal compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all financial transactions and maintain the companys financial integrity.
- Develop and implement financial growth strategies to ensure long-term fiscal sustainability.
- Oversee the preparation of annual and quarterly financial reports.
- Lead and participate in the budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Supervise and manage the accounting department, including training and mentoring accounting employees.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical business practices.
- Oversee payroll, benefits, taxation, and other fiscal aspects of the business.
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Conduct financial risk assessments and manage financial controls to mitigate risks.
- Prepare accurate income statements and other critical financial documents.
- Review all vendor contracts and issue regular RFPs to optimize costs and performance.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of significant accounting/financial experience in a managerial role.
- 4 to 6 years of business or finance education with a focus on accounting or financial management.
- A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, including senior-level work or government auditing.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and financial reporting requirements.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, EMR/Billing software, and PO systems.
- Behavioral healthcare experience is required, along with familiarity with the OASAS APG calculator (a plus).

- Exceptional numerical and analytical abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and patience.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet and financial analysis software.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts.
- Proven leadership experience managing a financial team.
Work Environment:
- Must work on-site at least 70% of the time across one or more locations.
- Collaborates closely with the CEO, Operations Supervisor, Billing Supervisor, HR, and site leadership teams.
Compensation:Starting base salary between $90,000 - $100,000, with $10,000 increase per additional site managed. Performance bonuses available based on success in reducing costs and optimizing financial performance.
