Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking an outstanding Computational Biologist with a strong background in bioinformatics and cancer biology to join our dynamic team. This role offers an opportunity to apply cutting-edge analytical methods to cancer research and contribute to advancing our understanding of cancer biology, genomics, and targeted therapies. As a member of a collaborative team of computational biologists and bioinformatic engineers, you will help to drive forward translational cancer research while working alongside clinical teams and researchers.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful research on topics such as drug resistance, tumor evolution, immunology, and clinical trial data, all while supporting MSKs mission of providing breakthrough cancer treatments.
Role Overview: Collaborate with clinical and biological scientists to advance and execute hypothesis-driven research Analyze large-scale sequencing data sets (e.g., genomics, bulk RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, metabolomics, and single-cell data) to address research questions related to cancer biology, including tumor plasticity, evolution, metastasis, and immunology Develop new computational methods and tools to enhance analysis capabilities Implement data quality control procedures to ensure robustness of research results Contribute to scientific manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and conferences Collaborate with academic partners, biotech industry leaders, and research teams to further MSK's mission and research goals Stay up-to-date with new developments in computational biology and bioinformatics to apply innovative techniques to research data
Key Qualifications: Master's, Ph.D., or equivalent in Biological Sciences, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field, with a focus on molecular biology Proven experience working with high-throughput sequencing data, including genomics, RNA-Seq, and other relevant datasets (preferred) Strong understanding of computational techniques and statistical analysis methods, with experience applying them to biological and cancer-related data Experience in cancer research is strongly preferred Proficiency in scientific computing software and scripting languages (e.g., Python, R, or similar)
Core Skills: Expertise in bioinformatics and computational biology In-depth knowledge of statistical methods, genomic data analysis, and next-generation sequencing techniques Ability to work with large and complex biological datasets Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or others commonly used in computational biology Ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex research problems

Pay Range: $80,300.00-$128,400.00
