Position Type: Technology/Computer Aide Date Posted: 2/19/2025 Location: District-Wide Date Available: 07/01/2025 Closing Date: 03/21/2025 ANTICIPATED VACANCY - Beginning July 1, 2025 Computer Aide, Part-Time/Hourly 12 Month Position District-Wide 2025-2026 The Eastchester School District is seeking an ambitious self-starter to fill the hourly position of Computer Aide in Technology Department. An ideal candidate will have experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting computer hardware and software. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of the capabilities of the computer equipment and software packages utilized by the school district;
- Ability to instruct others in the use of the computers and software packages;
- Ability to understand diverse software manuals and their applicability to current curriculum;
- Ability to maintain discipline;
- Good judgment, tact and courtesy;
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions;
- Dependability and thoroughness;
- Physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position;
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides first line technical support in troubleshooting computer connectivity, security and password issues;
- Assists in training office staff with computers, software and hardware;
- Installs and configures desktop software such as Adobe Reader, Google Chrome etc.;
- Maintains and troubleshoots equipment problems not requiring a trained technician such as smartboards, printers, scanners, wireless devices etc.;
- Creates and maintains catalog system for software library;
- Uses computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments.
- Orders and maintains supplies;
- Unloads and stocks computer related materials that arrive;
- Assist in recycling computer related materials;
- Replaces ink cartridges and toners as assigned by work orders;
- Unpack, assembles and set up computer related equipment;
- Prepares audio visual equipment for presentations;
- Repair printers;
- Relocate equipment;
- Keep inventory sheets;
- Clean equipment as needed;
- Run wires and terminate connections;
- Travel between district buildings to complete assignments.
PREREQUISITES:
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and one (1) year of work experience installing, configuring and/or troubleshooting computer hardware and software. SUBSTITUTION: Satisfactory completion of 30 college credits may be substituted for the one (1) year of work experience.
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Hours: 20 hours per week.
