THIS IS A NON-CIVIL SERVICE POSITION

POSTING DATE: 10/11/2024

SALARY RANGE: $15.00 - $30.00 Hourly

BACKGROUND CHECK: Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening and must be successfully completed.

PROBATION: All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory 6-month probation.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Concession Manager will oversee all aspects of concession operations within the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks. This role involves managing daily operations, ensuring quality customer service, and maintaining inventory and vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will be professional, organized, and able to communicate effectively with staff and patrons. Responsibilities also include training and supervising concession staff, creating a welcoming environment, and developing strategies to enhance patron engagement and satisfaction. The Concession Manager will work to ensure that all operations align with the agency's mission and contribute to a vibrant community atmosphere.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Must Maintain clean work area.

* Bring concerns and maintenance items to board meetings. Ensure all concession areas have proper displays and merchandise.

* Must Track expenses and income.

* Must perform end of shift cash handling procedures.

* Ensure dual control is maintained in preparing cash deposits.

* Must Prepare monthly report for Division regarding operations, expenses and income and maintenance requests.

* Must possess the ability to deal with the public in a courteous manner, use independent judgment when engaging with participants

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Have a High School Diploma (or equivalent).

AND

EXPERIENCE: Should have one year of experience working with youth in a community program or special facility. Must have above average oral and communication skills and be comfortable interacting with people.

MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE.
