We are currently looking for a Concierge to join our dedicated and caring team. The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and facilitate the move-in process for new arriving residents. The Concierge will act as a liaison to the nursing unit to help ensure a smooth transition with the admissions process for all residents. Further, the position will act as a liaison with family members as well as the residents of the Facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
Concierge Functions
- Work with the Corporate Admissions Director to assign residents rooms and bed.
- Ensure that the residents room is clean and orderly when resident arrives. Ensure special equipment and supplies are available. Ensure that resident has TV remote, list of channels, and a working telephone.
- Work with the Dietary Department to identity residents favorite food.
- Collaborate with Activities Department to identify residents favorite hobbies.
- Orient the new admission residents and their family members to the Facility. Provide the new resident welcome gifts, offer drinks and food, answer questions, make residents family feel comfortable and welcomed.
- Inform residents and their family members that you are the point person to help with the transition, answer questions, solve problems, etc.
- Advise the resident that you will check in on them before you leave and first thing in the morning and every other day for the first few days to make sure everything is going well.
- Inform the Admissions Director, Administrator, or any other applicable department of any problems that new residents are having and help find a solution to these issues.
- Assist residents with completing customer satisfaction surveys and address any problems in daily report.
Administrative Functions
- Assist Corporate Admissions Director in determining bed vacancies daily.
- Maintain constant communication with Corporate Admissions team.
- Communicate incoming admissions to all departments.
- Assist potential residents and their families by conducting tours of the Facility and answer questions regarding the Facility and admissions process. Provide residents with admission information packet (e.g., resident rights, notice of privacy practices, admissions contract, etc.). Review as necessary.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the Facility.
- Complete sign-ins (Admissions Agreements) for all new residents.
- Write daily report on new admissions and any other significant findings.
Staff Development
- Attend and participate in Facility mandatory in-service training programs as scheduled (e.g., OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, etc.).
- Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., as approved.
Resident Rights
- Must adhere to all HIPAA requirements.
Education/Experience
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior admissions experience in health care facilities preferred. Ability to type is required.
Specific Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, and the general public.
- Must possess the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
- Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing admission practices.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as must be willing to handle residents, staff, and visitors, based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
