JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to a Sergeant, responsible for providing administrative support to the Constable's office by processing civil and criminal court orders, complaints and other documents.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
* Performs daily intake and processing of legal documentation through computer system databases
* Maintains confidential files and computer system databases
* Maintains all civil and criminal documents processed by the Constable's office
* Processes and receives civil service fees and ensures daily deposits of such payments
* Creates and maintains all financial records for civil and criminal fees and warrant payments
* Provides customer service via telephone and/or in person
* Performs data analysis and prepares reports
* Prepares, distributes, and files billing invoices for accounts associated with civil process service fees
* Processes and files all documentation associated with legal files according to State and office records management policy
* Performs daily intake from U.S. Mail, interoffice mail, hand-delivered and electronic document filings
* Participates in the Tax Sale process by mailing documentation, assisting at the auction on the day of sale, and collecting payments for property purchased
* Performs quarterly audits of all receipts and invoices
* Performs special duties as assigned

* Position involves sitting, talking, listening, standing, walking, reaching, handling, bending, stooping, and light to moderate lifting
* Position involves visual acuity, hand to eye coordination and manual dexterity for phone, computer, typewriter, calculator, and other office equipment
* Position involves speaking in a clear, understandable voice and hearing audible sounds such as normal conversation, radio transmissions, and audible alarms
* Position involves some driving related to errands and meetings

* Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment
IRREGULAR HOURS
* Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Two (2) years of clerical experience
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required within thirty (30) days of employment
* Valid driver's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Prior work experience in a law enforcement environment interacting with the public, attorneys, and external agencies
* Knowledge of Texas civil and criminal court systems
* Associates degree in a related field
* Notary Public
* Bilingual: Spanish
