Position Description Revised 11/13/2024POSITION TITLE: Construction and Facilities Director REPORTS TO: Superintendent FLSA: Exempt Administrative TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 240 days QUALIFICATIONS: Good organization, communication, and interpersonal skills Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and/or HVAC systems Experience in construction processes and facility maintenance Two years of managerial experience preferred. Background check and fingerprinting MAJOR POLICY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee the operation of Buildings and Grounds, Custodial, and Maintenance. Ensure compliance with district operational regulations and procedures Ensure compliance with all Federal and state regulations and Board of Education policies. Accountable for the administration of the fiscal budget; supplies and equipment, safety standards, recommending the hiring of maintenance personnel and supervision. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist in the preparation of specifications for repair, renovation and restoration of buildings & grounds for the district. Assist in the development of comprehensive long-range plan for maintenance and renovation of district facilities.3. Implement strong preventative maintenance program.4. Assist in the planning and organization of inservice activities.5. Work with supervisors within each program and building administrators in coordination of work schedules, personnel issues, and programs to enhance the job performance.6. Oversee the development of the District Calendar for educational programs, PTA meetings, special functions, and school events. This calendar is then distributed to each school for their use in informing parents of upcoming events.7. Maintain effective communication with district administrators, staff, students, parents, and community members.8. Assist the Superintendent with the daily decisions regarding the operation of the buildings and grounds, and maintenance.9. Coordinate the development of plan to address the accessibility of facilities as required under the Americans with Disabilities Act.10. Maintain an accurate district map with individual school attendance boundaries. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Participate in professional conferences, inservice sessions, etc. to keep abreast of current practices.2. Serve as district representative for pest control and asbestos program coordinators.3. Operate the programs in accordance with Federal and State Department guidelines and local Board of Education regulations and policies.4. Attend meetings as required.5. All other duties as assigned for the Superintendent or his/her designee.
