Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator and Project Manager to join our team. In this dual role, the individual will be responsible for accurately estimating costs and managing all aspects of construction projects from initiation through to completion. Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Estimator:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work for a variety of construction projects.
- Bid Preparation: Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop accurate cost proposals and bids.
- Quantity Takeoffs: Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings and blueprints to assess material and labor requirements.
- Vendor Relations: Solicit and review quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that all estimates are competitive and comprehensive.
- Risk Analysis: Identify potential risks and incorporate contingencies into estimates to protect against unforeseen cost increases.
- Cost Tracking: Monitor and track project budgets throughout the project lifecycle to ensure that costs stay within projections.
- Value Engineering: Suggest cost-saving solutions and alternative methods or materials to reduce overall project costs without compromising quality.
As a Project Manager:
- Project Planning: Oversee the development and execution of detailed project plans, ensuring that all activities are carried out according to the specified timeline.
- Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate the efforts of project teams, including subcontractors, vendors, and internal staff, to achieve project goals.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that expenses remain within the approved limits while maintaining the quality of work.
- Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met. Address any delays or schedule issues promptly.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all work is performed to the highest quality standards and in compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients to provide project updates, resolve issues, and manage expectations.
- Problem-Solving: Identify challenges and obstacles throughout the project and find solutions to keep the project on track.
- Project Documentation: Ensure that all necessary documentation (contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, etc.) is maintained, accurate, and up to date.
- Risk Management: Proactively manage and mitigate potential risks to the project, from budgetary concerns to schedule disruptions.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating and project management.
- Proven experience in managing construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
- Knowledge of construction processes, materials, methods, and regulations.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of cost estimation and construction scheduling.
- Proficient in construction software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, etc.).
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with both clients and teams.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and contracts.
- Solid understanding of construction contracts, terms, and legal implications.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work on-site and travel to project locations.
