Experienced Commercial Construction Estimator & Scheduler

Forney Construction is seeking an Estimator to join our team. This role will be responsible for estimating commercial projects within the Greater Houston area, as well as creating project schedules for submission in proposal packages.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review bid instructions for individual projects and ensure compliance
• Review all final estimates for accuracy, compliance, and completion prior to submission
• Assist senior management in identifying project opportunities, bid strategies, and bid techniques
• Estimate projects as required to meet organizational demand
• Perform in-depth review of the original estimate with the project team
• Identify potential risks and develop strategies to eliminate or reduce such risks
• Create project schedules that align with construction estimates

Qualifications and Skills:

• A minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience as an Estimator working in a commercial construction environment required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field of study preferred, but not required
• Demonstrated ability to estimate, identify and formulate ill-defined construction assemblies and processes, generate scope qualifications, conduct constructability assessments, and forecast approximate construction durations
• Demonstrated ability to “think outside the box” when approaching estimating tasks
