Job Title: Estimator

Location: Central Manhattan, NY

Client: Industry-Leading General Contractor (Commercial interiors)

Salary: $120,000 - $170,000 (DOE)

They are seeking a skilled Estimator to help drive the success of new and ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Estimator, you will:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for complex commercial, institutional, and high-end interior projects.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documentation to understand scope and requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing and ensure cost-effective project execution.
• Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing agreements.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive databases for material, labor, and equipment costs.
• Monitor cost trends, market conditions, and material pricing to provide accurate estimates.
• Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for new business opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of experience as an Estimator within the construction industry, preferably with a general contractor.
• Expertise in preparing estimates for commercial or high-end interior fit-outs in Manhattan or other major urban areas.
• Proficiency in reading architectural plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of local construction costs, labor markets, and material pricing.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
