Position Overview:
The Construction Estimator will play a critical role in the preconstruction phase, preparing accurate and competitive estimates for large-scale commercial, educational, and multifamily projects. This individual will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure thorough cost analysis and project feasibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to assess project scope and budget constraints.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Identify potential cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners.
- Present estimates and participate in pre-bid meetings with clients and leadership.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably with a General Contractor.
- Strong background in commercial, education, and multifamily projects.
- Experience estimating projects valued at $25M or more.
- Proficiency in estimating software (such as Bluebeam, ProEst, or Timberline).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
