Job Location : Robstown,TX, USA
As a Field Engineer you will be playing a critical role in the construction of Tesla's first lithium refinery plant near Corpus Christi, TX. You will pro-actively aid the Construction Management team in front-line field support and coordination. This role will require collaboration across functional groups to resolve technical design issues, ensure quality installations, track and report cost/schedule metrics, and model safe work practices. This is a role that requires sound technical judgement and creative problem solving skills to support field operations.
* Review and approve contractor quality plans and procedures
* Develop Inspection Test Plans with contractors per project specifications
* Construction QC/QA - perform/witness required inspections of self-perform and contractor construction work
* Management of RFI/FCN/NCR processes
* Review and consolidate turnover documentation
* Identify and provide a path of resolution to technical field issues as they arise in collaboration with engineering, applicable contractors, and other parties as required
* Coordinate third party inspections as required
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
* Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills are a must
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
* High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and scheduling software (Microsoft Projects)
* Proven ability to identify field issues and propose efficient solutions
* 3+ years of relevant industry experience (heavy industrial, oil & gas, complex chemical plants)
* Previous experience on $200M+ projects, preferably with experience on both owner and contractor side
