Position Overview:

As our Carpenter Foreman, you'll lead your team to get the job done safely and deliver quality work that we can all be proud of. Every day, we'll count on you to lead and direct carpentry tasks, maintain a clean and organized job site, and work closely with the superintendent to have the right people and materials where they're needed. In this important role, you'll need strong communication skills, a hands-on attitude, and the ability to bring people together to tackle challenges and keep the project moving forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team in efficient trash pickup and basic carpentry tasks.
  • Organize work schedules and manage expenses.
  • Comply with safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Liaise with supervisors and management to ensure project success.
  • Adapt quickly to changing conditions and solve problems effectively.
  • Promote a culture of safety and lead by example in enforcing safety protocols across all job sites.
  • Build strong working relationships with field management, trade partners, and other stakeholders, promoting team communication and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Coordinate closely with the superintendent on project schedules and resource allocation, including labor and materials, to complete carpentry activities.
  • Prioritize and maintain a clean and organized job site, setting a standard for cleanliness and safety.
  • Reconcile job-related expenses and assist with tracking job-site cost codes to support accurate project cost reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle safely and responsibly
  • Proven leadership skills, preferably in a labor-intensive field.
  • Competency in basic carpentry or handyman work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety, with relevant training or experience preferred.
  • Physical exertion including long periods of standing and walking over rough or uneven surfaces, crouching, climbing, and lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Essential Physical Requirements:

You must be able to twist, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders frequently, with the ability to walk on uneven ground and work above ground on scaffolds. Standing for up to seven hours during an eight-hour shift is also expected. Requires the ability to maintain balance on uneven surfaces and scaffolding at various heights, ensuring safety in all work conditions. Good finger manipulation is essential to handle tools effectively and operate equipment. Team members must be able to carry and use hand tools, climb on both light and heavy equipment, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance required for heavier items. Must have depth perception to navigate safely around hazards, and the ability to hear horns and sirens on moving equipment. Outdoor work in temperatures from 25 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit is also required.
