Essential Functions/ Job Competencies/ Physical Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

• Inspects materials in accordance with City Ordinance specifications, which includes line alignments, backfill materials, and testing.
• Inspects water line installations, fittings, fire hydrants, values, services, etc.
• Inspects concrete and asphalt for correct alignment and grade; monitors soil samples.
• Examines curbs and gutters, assures poured concrete complies to moisture/density requirements; examines forms and reinforced steel.
• Inspects sidewalks, valley gutters, driveways, curbs, and gutters; ensures poured concrete complies to moister/density requirements; examines forms and reinforced steel.
• Inspects storm sewers, installations of pipes, junction boxes, manholes and out-fall facilities.
• Inspects sanitary sewer lines and force mains to ensure alignment, grades, main lift stations, and manhole installations.
• Maintains daily logs for each project and monitors inspections.
• Inspects construction of booster stations, water treatment plants, and wastewater treatment plants.
• Assists in maintaining good communication between staff, visitors, engineers, and contractors.
• Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or G.E.D
• At least two (2) years of construction work experience

• Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
