DescriptionDescription:KMEA is an environmental, energy, engineering and sustainability (E3S) consulting company providing professional engineering, scientific, and technical services to our clients throughout the United States and internationally. We are seeking a Construction Inspector to perform work on an airfield project at Travis Air Force Base near Fairfield, California. Working at this location is a requirement for the job. Responsibilities:
- Performing Title II construction inspection and oversight.
- Providing design review and suggestions for correcting errors.
- Reviewing material, equipment, and commissioning submittals.
- Supporting construction contractor Requests-For-Information.
- Notifying the Contracting Officer (CO) and COR of critical issues that may affect the contract performance and/or human health and the environment.
- Providing photographs and maintaining daily log of construction activities.
- Performing most assignments independently, but consulting with others and receiving technical guidance on unusual or complex problems.
- Planning work and meeting deadlines without supervisor's action.
- Following company safety standards and site safety standards.
- Understanding and adhering to company policies.
- Other duties as required.
RequirementsQualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of five years' experience in construction practices, procedures, and testing, including at least two years quality control management of DoD Airfield Pavement projects.
- Completion of a professionally accredited Quality Control Management Course within the last five years
- Experience in Air Force airfield pavements
- Knowledgeable in federal and DoD contracts.
- Candidate must be able to be approved by Air Force prior to hire.
- Valid driver license required and must meet KMEA's auto insurability requirements.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Knowledgeable in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), PowerPoint; familiarity and working knowledge of AutoCAD, or other software is also a plus.
- Must be approved to work on a DoD installation.
- Must be an organized, motivated and detail-oriented team player.
- Must pass pre-employment drug test, MVR check and federal government background check.
- Must be eligible to work legally in the US.
- Must provide proof of COVID 19 vaccination.
