Job Description :

Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) Quality Assurance Inspector

The MEP QA Inspector shall be the lead for the night shift operation which involves review and ownership of project documents, submittals, shop drawings, methods of installation, and coordination of all trades focused on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. This role will coordinate the site inspection for all trades with the subcontractors and program management team. This position will be on the night shift for 6 to 9 months and transfer to the day shift performing similar duties. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Duties:

  • Coordinate all work activities with all trades.
  • Coordination of project submittals and shop drawings.
  • Communication with the dayshift personnel on progress and issues.
  • Provide Quality Assurance services.
  • Monitoring of site inspections.
  • Coordination of testing and commissioning inspections.
  • Coordination with construction and DEN operational staff.
  • Demonstrate confidence and ability to make decisions when needed.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience with MEP Quality Assurance on a large-scale public facility reconfiguration project or project with similar complexity.
  • Ability to work on a team, coordinate with multiple departments/consultants, and communicate all QA activities to Design Team, Quality Manager, and Management leads for the project.
  • Experience and knowledge of applicable industry software, applications, and systems such as Acrobat, and Bluebeam.
  • A quality checklist per discipline will be utilized to make sure quality standards are being followed per the Quality Management Plan.
  • Experience in reviewing facility as-built documents to identify system conflicts and issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Airport experience is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • 5 + years on site quality experience in MEP systems for large scale projects.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of code compliance.
  • Computer knowledge and experience (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, BIM, Bluebeam, Acrobat, etc.).
  • A trade license in one or more of the MEP disciplines or ICC commercial inspection certification.
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Initial Shift work:

  • This candidate will start out on the night shift for 6 to 9 months which then will transition to the day shift at our client site.
