Job Overview:

APTIM Federal Services, LLC team has several projects at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard, San Francisco, CA. The projects will investigate, excavate, and restore properties that have environmentally and radiologically impacted soil; restore the shoreline and construct seawalls in support of the redevelopment of the San Francisco Bay waterfront. We are seeking a construction workforce who are up to the operational challenges of these high-profile and critically important projects. These projects pay the Federal prevailing wage scale (Davis-Bacon Act).

Perform tasks involving physical labor in support of project excavation and restoration activities. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, and cement mixers and a variety of other tools. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, clean up rubble and debris, and remove hazardous waste materials. Must work as a team with other craft workers and heavy equipment operators. Duties may include operating off-road dump truck or water truck.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes.
  • Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
  • Shovel cement and other materials into portable cement mixers; mix, pour, and spread concrete.
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
  • Erect and disassemble shoring, braces, traffic barricades, and other temporary structures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Preferred applicant will have current OSHA HAZWOPER training.
  • Minimum 1 year experience and live locally (daily commute) to Hunter's Point.
