Construction Laborer / Operators for Excavation company - Construction | Excavation : Job Details

We have an immediate opening for a skilled and reliable Construction Worker. You will work on a variety of construction projects performing general tasks. We build parks, trails, boardwalks, pedestrian bridges, and streambank restorations. You must also be prepared to work in different types of weather conditions. We primarily work with government entities and commercial clients. Our ideal candidate has some construction experience, but we are willing to train the right person.

Pay will be reflected with experience.

Essential Position Functions:

• Able to utilize a variety of hand tools, operate power tools and equipment
• Able to dig trenches (by hand or power), clean up rubble and debris, backfill excavations, and/or compact earth to grade specifications, and remove waste materials.
• Load and unload materials, machinery, and tools at appropriate locations.
• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor to prepare work sites
• Able to operate commercial vehicles and pull a variety of trailers.
• Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
• Ability to safely utilize light/heavy underground excavation equipment
• Use of hand tools, ladders, and equipment to assist in the completion of an assigned project.
• Daily documentation of work performed, material usage, and other record-keeping tasks.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively with little to no supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to use hand and power tools required.
• 2 years Experience
• Must have a valid driver's license (CDL is preferred).
• Must have a vehicle to get to and from job sites.
• Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
• Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
