OVERVIEW

Vertex Resources Services Inc. is currently accepting applications for a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Project Manager to work out of Conroe, Texas. The successful candidate utilizes extensive knowledge, experience, and judgment to manage all phases of CMT projects, ensuring their safe, successful completion within the defined scope, budget, and schedule. The role involves overseeing both field and office technical work, including proposal development, contract administration, and budget control. The CMT Project Manager is responsible for fostering strong client relationships, ensuring technical proficiency, and maintaining the quality of final reports. The role includes managing project execution, tracking progress, and addressing operational challenges to prevent delays. Key responsibilities also involve resource management, such as scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and coordinating with external vendors, subcontractors, or contractors. The Project Manager facilitates meetings, prepares detailed progress reports, and communicates effectively with both the project team and clients to ensure alignment with client expectations. Prioritizing tasks, delegating effectively, and coordinating project staff are essential to meeting milestones. Additionally, the Project Manager collaborates closely with the Sr. Technical Team to ensure proper oversight and engagement at critical stages. Financial management duties include approving invoices, preparing change orders, and overseeing collections to ensure accountability and project success. The role may also involve managing and training technical support staff to ensure smooth project execution and high standards of quality.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

* A bachelor's degree in a technical field relevant to the firm's practices, such as Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology, along with at least 5 years of related experience. Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.

* Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history

* Willing and able to travel

PREFERRED CERTIFICATION

* A valid Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or other relevant professional certification or registration, applicable to the type of services and projects being managed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Oversee all aspects of construction materials testing (CMT) projects, ensuring successful completion within the defined scope, budget, and timeline.

* Manage project execution, ensuring alignment with the contracted scope, while regularly monitoring progress and performance against established plans.

* Identify and resolve operational challenges promptly to minimize delays and maintain project momentum.

* Develop and manage project proposals, including budgeting, contract administration, and client relationship management.

* Monitor and control project finances, including approving invoices, preparing change orders, and overseeing collections to ensure financial accountability.

* Lead and coordinate technical support staff, providing training and guidance to ensure quality and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.

* Foster and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring clear communication, addressing concerns, and managing expectations to exceed client requirements.

* Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, subcontractors, and contractors to secure necessary resources and expertise for the project.

* Facilitate meetings, track project milestones, and prepare comprehensive reports to communicate project status to both clients and internal teams.

* Manage resource allocation, including scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting, to optimize project performance.

* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, maintaining technical proficiency and upholding quality throughout the project.

* Work closely with the Sr. Technical Teamto ensure proper project oversight, particularly at key milestones and critical stages.

* Provide clear documentation of findings and results, ensuring accuracy in data analysis before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.

* Adhere to safety rules and practices, perform pre-task planning, and report safety issues or concerns to management.

* Other duties as directed by your manager or supervisor.

* This position will be based out of Conroe, Texas, with occasional work out of town.
