STRIVE stands for Safety, Teamwork, Responsiveness, Integrity, Value, and Excellence.SummaryAs a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician, you will be responsible for conducting on-site testing of concrete, soils, and other construction materials. You will utilize a company-provided vehicle to travel to various job sites within the area. We offer comprehensive on-the-job training, as well as the possibility of obtaining future certifications in construction materials testing.Successful candidates in this role find satisfaction in spending the majority of their time outdoors, immersed in construction environments. If you are someone who embodies reliability, a robust work ethic, and the ability to collaborate respectfully with both colleagues and clients, then this position aligns perfectly with you.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure that all testing equipment used is functioning properly, maintained as required by company and/or manufacturer's policy, and that all calibrated equipment is within its calibration cycle.Ensure that project testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements, and company policies or procedures.Travel to various job sites in a company-provided vehicle to perform sampling and testing on construction materials, such as concrete, soils, and asphalt.Return samples to the office for testing.Report data in an accurate, complete, timely, and understandable fashion in accordance with applicable testing procedures.Operate a motor vehicle; maintain company vehicle (schedule oil changes, check fluid levels, inside/outside upkeep).Communicate with dispatching and/or field supervisor, advising of current job status and locations as required.Regular attendance is required; technicians must arrive on time for scheduled jobs.Prepare testing reports using Field Data Collection (FDC) software.Must be willing to travel within the state of Georgia, if applicable.Complete daily time and labor reports in accordance with company policy.Turn in required paperwork daily.Must be flexible to changing schedules and hours to support business needs; overnight and weekends schedules may be necessary to support business needs.Follow all company safety procedures and policies.Other duties may be assigned.QualificationsYou must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.You will need a valid driver's license with an acceptable record.Working with concrete will require you to have the ability to lift 50-75 pounds repeatedly with or without accommodations.Ability to read & write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop, including sending and receiving emails, and the ability to learn Field Data Collection (FDC)/Inspector Gadget to input data and prepare reports.Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form.Preferred Experience & CertificationsAmerican Concrete Institute (ACI) Certifications in field testing.Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP) certifications in field testing.Construction and/or engineering experience.EEOC StatementUES is committed to embracing diversity, equity and inclusion to create a workplace that welcomes and thrives on the unique experiences, perspectives and contributions of all team members.#J-18808-Ljbffr
