Our client, a premier national law firm, is seeking an experienced Construction Partner to join their renowned construction practice in New York. Their nationwide team is recognised by Chambers & Partners as one of the leading construction law practices in the U.S. They provide clients across all industry sectors with comprehensive legal services for both domestic and international construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel on all aspects of construction law, from contract negotiation to project completion.
  • Advise clients on the formation, negotiation, drafting, review, and interpretation of construction and design professional contracts.
  • Represent clients in complex litigation, arbitration, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution forums related to construction disputes.
  • Help clients mitigate risks by ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, minimising the potential for disputes and costly litigation.
  • Address issues such as defective design, workmanship claims, site conditions, delays, scheduling, acceleration, terminations, and more.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Extensive experience in construction law, with a proven track record of advising and representing clients in construction-related legal matters.
  • Strong experience in contract negotiation, litigation, dispute resolution, and risk management within the construction industry.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of New York (additional state licenses are a plus).
  • A strong book of business is preferred, along with a history of successful client relationships.
