Job Title: Construction Quality Control ManagerJob DescriptionThe Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM) will oversee and manage the quality control processes for construction projects at the West Point Federal Military Base. The CQCM ensures that all construction activities comply with project specifications, federal regulations, and safety standards. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and government representatives to deliver high-quality construction projects on time and within budget.Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures for construction projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Review and approve project submittals, shop drawings, and material samples.
  • Chair and document weekly quality control meetings with project stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed quality control documentation, including daily reports, inspection logs, and non-conformance reports.
  • Coordinate and oversee testing and commissioning of building systems.
  • Ensure that all materials and workmanship meet the required quality standards.
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings with subcontractors to discuss quality expectations and requirements.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in construction quality control.
  • Ensure that all construction activities are conducted safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction quality control, preferably on federal or military projects.
  • Current USACE 'Construction Quality Management for Contractors' certification (QCM-C).
  • Ability to pass DoD security clearance for base access.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Proficiency with RMS 3.0 and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver's license with a good motor vehicle record.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working on USACE construction projects.
  • Familiarity with federal and military construction standards and regulations.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • 5-10+ years of experience.
  • RMS Software - utilized by USACE.
  • CPR certification.
  • Quality management/Quality assurance knowledge.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance System (QAS) as an extension of RMS.
Work EnvironmentThis position requires working on-site at the West Point Federal Military Base. The role may involve exposure to various weather conditions and occasional travel for training or project-related purposes. The field office on-site is fully equipped, and the project duration is 12-18 months, with opportunities for long-term growth and involvement in additional projects.
