Position: Construction Project SchedulerLocation: RaleighReports to: Thomas HarperAdams Electric Company is seeking a highly motivated scheduler to support the business goals and objectives of both Adams Electric Company and our clients. As a scheduler you will work closely with our construction team, project manager, and operations to develop the overall schedule of project completion. You will be responsible for building and updating schedules at various milestones, as project deliverables are completed, and as scopes of work are added to a project, and to provide updates to key team members on the progress of project completion.We are currently seeking a Project Scheduler to add to our Scheduling Team. The ideal Project Scheduler will have experience assisting in developing, maintaining, and updating CPM schedules during all project phases. This role coordinates with all elements of the project including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, facilitating the development of baselines, maintaining working schedules from the initiation phase to closeout, creating potential issue and optimization scenarios, coordinating and leading update meetings and pull planning sessions. Project Scheduler's will be responsible for producing a suite of reports in varying formats to deliver to the project team. Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of three (3) years of dedicated project scheduling experience using CPM methodologies in P6, and will be proficient in resource loading.Responsibilities:Work closely with preconstruction teams, project managers, superintendents, contractors, and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and constructionDevelop resource and cost loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projectsDevelop schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations, and available resources. Develops the project schedule using all available support documentation including design drawings, contracts and specifications.Performs weekly schedule update meetings to ensure the most accurate and updated status and information is included in the project plan.Incorporates design deliverable documents into the schedule and identifies design risk.Works closely with material management and project teams to ensure deliveries support installation timeframes.Develops and manages adequate detail to successfully perform the work.Performs constructability reviews to validate sequencing and logic.Identifies and communicates risk and opportunity.Oversees pull planning sessions with the construction team and ensures compliance with baseline schedule summary activities.Assess the impact of design changes and schedule slippages. Inform Leadership of all schedule updatesApply knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction terminology, and concepts to develop and maintain critical path logic networksAccumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecastingProvide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problemsMay interface with clients, attend regular meetings, and give statistical reportsTravel to projects sites and other Adams Electric Company offices as needed to participate in project meetings, develop schedules of project completion, and update schedules to identify work completed at the project sitesRequirements:7+ years of experience on large commercial or industrial construction projects2+ years of direct scheduling experience required in critical path management with a demonstrated history of successful schedule compression and mitigation efforts3+ of P6 CPM scheduling experience in similar marketsExcellent communication skillsProficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs, with a focus on Excel.Complete understanding of current scheduling concepts and best practicesThorough understanding of CPM scheduling methodologiesAbility to work in a dynamic environmentExcellent written and verbal communication presentation skills are a mustAdvanced knowledge of construction technology, codes and standards, and an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional unitsWorking knowledge of standard cost control methods utilized in execution of various types of projects (EPC, Construction Management, Design Build, Time and Material, and Maintenance)
