Our experienced team collaborates seamlessly with clients across advanced technology, healthcare, education, commercial, and industrial sectors, delivering efficient and integrated project outcomes.We are searching for a Construction Superintendent for a 25-week project.Reports to: This position reports directly to the General Superintendent and collaborates closely with the Project Manager and the project team.Objective: The Construction Superintendent is tasked with overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring they are executed in accordance with the design and meet the company's standards for quality and safety.Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain work schedules and assignments.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures and site regulations.
  • Oversee site operations and manage site personnel including subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage a detailed schedule and cost-effective plan for project completion.
  • Maintain comprehensive daily reports, logs, and shop drawing files.
  • Communicate project performance, schedule updates, and issues to the Project Manager daily, aiming for cost-effective solutions.
  • Supervise subcontractor performance to meet quality and ethical standards.
  • Coordinate and schedule work activities for tradespeople, professionals, and laborers through project forepersons.
  • Regularly inspect work quality and timeliness, providing progress reports and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses; manage project requirements per agreements.
  • Understand and communicate budget variances promptly.
  • Prepare and implement construction schedules including 5-week look-ahead plans.
  • Adhere to and monitor compliance with safety protocols at the site.
  • Conduct subcontractor meetings to discuss progress and issues.
  • Develop and manage a site-specific safety plan for each assigned project.
  • Thoroughly understand owner requirements, project plans, specifications, and submittals.
  • Identify and document field changes, authorizing field change requests as required.
  • Ensure projects meet schedule requirements through tracking and communication.
  • Participate in client presentations as needed.
  • Respond promptly to emails and calls, maintaining clear communication internally and externally.
  • Update logs for tools, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in overseeing and coordinating diverse roles.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of construction blueprints and plans.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction and building site legal requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on quality practices.
  • Experience with Procore, Excel, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Word.
  • Competence in using iPads for field operations.
  • Maintaining necessary licenses, certifications, and training.
Physical Requirements: Must have good vision (corrected if necessary); be able to coordinate movements of eyes, hands, and fingers; fully use hands, arms, and fingers; climb and balance on ladders; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as necessary; and lift objects up to 50 pounds or occasionally more. Ability to navigate all areas of a construction site in various weather conditions is required.Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field is required, along with 7-10 years of experience as a commercial superintendent.We are an equal-opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
