Position DescriptionOnsite Construction Superintendent will be responsible for managing and performing the daily responsibilities related to the physical construction of new and repair/renovation projects in a healthcare environment, and to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the project Quality Control Plan and Safety Plan. Work in an operating healthcare facility may require off-hour work in order to maintain operations within the facility.Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- The ability to perform remedial tasks using basic computer software like, scheduling, update reports, and email.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret contract documents, construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals to properly direct subcontractors to execution of work.
- Assist with project design plan review to accomplish contractual objectives and provide direction and support to subcontractors, support staff, trades, and crafts.
- Assist in developing the overall CPM schedule with the project management team prior to construction.
- Manage the schedule throughout the project to include the creation and maintenance of 2 to 4-week look-ahead schedules.
- Develop and maintain the site logistics plans for projects assigned.
- Create, update, and maintain the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reports.
- Chair and document regular progress meetings with the client/owner and provide written minutes as described in project specific contract documents.
- Maintain client/owner relations through communication both face-to-face and digital.
- Conduct preconstruction meetings with all subcontractors prior to beginning each phase of work.
- Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work.
- Direct field operations to operate according to the plan and in an efficient manner.
- Conduct foreman's meetings.
- Follow up on RFI's, submittals, as-builts and changes.
- Overall responsibility for Valiant's Quality Control Management Program and Safety Management Program for individually assigned Task Orders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge, Experience, and Skill Requirements Excellent communication skills and a sense of urgency to meet deadlines. Strong ability to plan, organize and direct associates to meet goals and objectives.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and implement construction drawings.
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.
- Experience with US Corps of Engineers, government contracting, general construction.
- Experience in healthcare facilities preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. Government procurement regulations and labor laws desirable.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Projects.
- Experience with P6 (Oracle) is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while attending to multiple tasks and demands.
- ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate HCC or CHC required, USACE CQM Training certificate, OSHA - 30 HR Construction Safety Health (preferred but not required).
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certification (preferred but not required).
- US Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management for Contractors (preferred but not required).
- Physical, Environmental and Sensory Requirements Position works in office areas as well as through construction jobsites.
- Physical demands include intermittent sitting, standing, and walking, and occasional bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Moderate exposure to elements such as heat, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, moving machinery, etc., typical of a construction site.
- Have sufficient vision, either natural or corrected, to identify safety signs, warnings, etc.
- Lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis.
