The DLP Services, LLC is currently accepting applications for the position of:POSITION TITLE: Construction Superintendent.Location: Del Rio, TX.FLSA: Non-Exempt.Hire Pay: $55,000-$65,000 AnnualClassification: Full-TimeOVERVIEWWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will ensure that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of construction processes, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.DUTIES
  • Manage a team of workers, including their work schedules and resource allocation
  • Monitor project progress and ensure that work is done on schedule
  • Create cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials and other project costs
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers and others to determine timeline and budget
  • Coordinate delivery of materials and equipment with vendors and suppliers
  • Schedule construction crew and subcontractors
  • Hire additional subcontractors and assign work as needed
  • Maintain a construction daily log for the job site's operations
  • Report to management as necessary
  • Change operations when needed to meet deadlines
  • Implement cost-effective management techniques
  • Meet with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors and staff on site
  • Prevent scope creep
  • Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs
  • Set performance goals and deadlines
  • Plan construction processes
  • Estimate costs and ensure the project is on budget
  • Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback
  • Monitor and report on project progress
  • Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities
  • Implement safety and quality guidelines
  • Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance
  • Keep track of material stock and orders
  • Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly
  • Resolve on-site issues and emergencies

  • Wears personal protective equipment appropriate for the task being performed.
  • Adheres to proper security procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:WORKING CONDITIONS:The principal duties of this position are performed in an indoor and/or outdoor environment. Works standing and walking for prolonged periods of time. Steps, stoops, crawls, climbs, lifts, bends, kneels, pulls, and pushes while performing job duties such as heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required of objects up to 55 pounds. Physical work is a primary part of the job. The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, cleaning chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY:This position is subject to the DLP Services LLC, Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial construction.
  • GED or High School Diploma.
  • Experience in Design-Build methodology of project development is preferred.
  • Experience in Education and Commercial Construction is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
  • Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening.
  • Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices.
  • Good planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation and contingencies.
  • Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues.
  • In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations.
  • Great problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective leadership abilities, like motivation, goal setting, and conflict management.
  • Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking.
Other: Valid Drivers' License Class C.
