WHO WE NEED: Arootah is searching for experienced Head Traders or Directors of Trading to consult to our highly prestigious client base. As a consultant, you will work with our Hedge Fund and Family Office clients to provide expert advice. Having previously served in this leadership role, you have specific, hands-on experience strategically building, maintaining, and operating the full infrastructure and operations of a Trading Desk for a leading Hedge Fund or Family Office. What You'll Do
- Best practice reviews.
- Developing realistic and effective action plans.
- Breaking apart goals into actionable steps.
- Advising on vendor selection and oversight.
- Creating and implementing policies, procedures, and control measures.
- Evaluating each client's advancement toward goal actualization through key performance indicators (KPIs) and scoring matrices.
- Special projects or other areas of need.
Who You Are
- All aspects of the day-to-day management and oversight of a trading desk including management of sell side relationships, trade commission negotiations, the full life cycle of a trade and all trading personnel.
- Developing and implementing policies for trade execution on different asset classes including knowledge of financing, settlement, capital requirements and compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsand exchange rules.
- Manage trades from inception to post-trade analysis, including building trades, pre-trade analysis, execution, communication, and settlement.
- Oversee all of the company's trading positions, risk management, and the profitable operation of the company's trading activities by working closely with Portfolio and Risk Managers.
- Design trade architecture, trading policies and procedures, as well as broker evaluation and trading record keeping.
- Assist Portfolio Managers as needed with rebalancing, cash management, asset allocation and risk management oversight and guidance.
- Choose, implement, and manage trading rotations, strategies, and performance metrics to evaluate and manage all trading personnel.
- Knowledge of different software programs and means of sourcing liquidity across various asset classes including high-frequency trading, algorithms, electronic crossing networks, and artificial intelligence (AI) trading programs.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of all transaction cost models and aspects of portfolio construction in the furtherance of ongoing idea generation and process improvements.
- Communicate market insights via verbal and written thought pieces to the investment team.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Master's Degree and/or CFA is strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of prior work experience, specifically as a Head Trader or Director of Trading for a Hedge Fund or Family Office with high order flow.
- In-depth understanding of various global markets, exchanges, and regulatory environments; a strong understanding of risk management and escalation.
- Prior familiarity with compliance and risk management policies regarding best execution and fair allocation practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of conventional or proprietary OMS, EMS, and TCA research is essential.
- Strong programming skills (Python preferred) and experience working with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistics/econometrics and experience working with large data sets (3rd party and proprietary).
$250 - $500 an hour Become part of a well-funded disruptor in the finance and technology space. The ability to work remotely. Flexible hours and the ability to choose your assignments. The hourly consulting rate of pay is expected to be a minimum of $250 and a maximum of $500, per hour. The hourly rate will be determined by several factors which may include, but are not limited to, the length of the individual engagement, level of difficulty, level of specialization required, professional designations, skills, and years of experience.
