Experience analyzing large data sets Job Summary - The Consulting Business Analyst (BA) will join the HIM, Coding, and Abstraction department. This department partners with internal HIM, Coding, and Abstraction stakeholders and external stakeholders, for example and not limited to, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), Regulatory Compliance (REGS), and Clinical, Quality, and Operational Corporate Departments, in the creation and facilitation of business technical and analytics requirements and processes, the execution of those created processes, and ongoing support of operational models. This work will support a variety of technology and analytics platforms and projects across the HIM, Coding & Abstraction portfolio. The Consulting BA leverages a robust set of tools and works independently and as a lead to other analysts on projects and engagements of significant complexity and is responsible for analyzing the business, facilitating solution definition, and successfully integrating business processes, roles and technology to ensure business objectives are met.   • Acts as a consultant to other analysts; and as auditor of documents and models produced by other analysts and business consultants
  • Effectively understands and teaches the role of a business area within the greater company context
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to other business analysts
  • Facilitates training of Business Analysis best practices
BA Operational Excellence
  • Develops and maintains BA templates, BA tools and BA framework
  • Develops, shares, and leverages best practices across functional teams
  • Collaborates with peers to develop a customized business analysis approach, defining the business analysis tasks, resources, and estimated effort to complete a project
Business Liaison/Consultant
  • Leverages a robust network of relationships across multiple business areas
  • Facilitates communications between IT and the business
  • Assists in the development of metrics used to track value delivery
  • Drives business centric collaboration with stakeholders, business users, and technical solution providers to understand business needs, project objectives, scope, dependencies and risks for projects
  • Communicates the approach and work with project team to modify and ultimately gain approval for the analysis activities.
  • Manages changes to the solution requirements, assessing the impact of requirement changes, and ensuring appropriate approval of those changes.
  • Manages solution requirement communication, ensuring that stakeholders have a shared understanding of the requirements
  • Quickly understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements, analyze and present solution options.
  • Coordinates and leads User Acceptance Testing, prioritizing gaps and negotiating between the business and technical solution providers to gain product acceptance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Technical skills - demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and BI tools. Demonstrates understanding of statistical analysis techniques, big data tools, programming, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and data science terminologies and methodologies.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in informatics, analytics, business analytics, statistics, computer science or related field required
EXPERIENCE
  • 5-7 years of business analysis or relevant work experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Office/Excel experience required
  • Experience in the healthcare delivery environment (clinical/support) highly preferred
  • Experience using workflow management software (i.e. JIRA) a plus
  • Experience analyzing healthcare enterprise-sized (very, very large) data sets a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in in individual and group setting
  • 1-3 years of reporting and data analysis experience preferred
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE NA PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS - Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.
