Summary of the Role:Under the direction of the Director of Operations the Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a Continuous Improvement culture aligned with Trelleborg's Manufacturing Excellence (ME) program. This position will manage the Innovation & Development team and partner with other staff managers to guide project teams in the use and deployment of tools, technology, policies and processes to improve overall operational effectiveness. Continuous Improvement projects will target opportunities throughout the operation that have an impact on efficiency or cost.Tasks and Responsibilities:* Designs methods for maintaining or increasing production levels while improving production costs, yields, quality, and safety.* Leads and maintains the plant's ME program including monthly reporting.* Troubleshoots process problems and identifies solutions which reduce downtime and conserve maintenance costs.* Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.* Responsible for the tracking and reviewing progress of project plan resulting form the ME roadmap assesment* Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.* Develops and updates process procedures to ensure that documentation is accurate and understandable.* Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.* Interfaces with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation.* Defines safe processes and equipment for employee use in production.* Oversees training and development of Innovation & Development team members.* Uses a variety of continuous improvement tools (i.e. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S) to deliver strategic objectives while driving a common language and enthusiasm for performance improvement.* Remains abreast of new developments in business process improvement methodology and best practices, including learning from other group sites, market leaders and industries.* Promotes the sharing and implementation of operational best practices.* Effectively leads the Layered Process Audit in place and make revisions in a timely manner to raise the bar.Education and Experience:Required: College degree required; BS in Industrial Engineering (or similar) and Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.Preferred: 3 to 5 years' experience in training or shop floor supervision in a manufacturing environment.Competencies:* Leadership* Ethical conduct* Strong Communication Skills* Strategic Thinking* Business Acumen* Technical Capacity* Financial Management* Results Driven* Collaboration SkillsTravel:* Travel is expected, but may be required up to 25%.Application:Apply here!Last Application Date 2/23/2025As an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran or disability status.This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
