POSITION SUMMARY:
- Logistics & Storage Support Services (L3S) provides project and construction management to support the continuous growth and maintenance of Marathon's Logistics & Storage (L&S) organization. Projects typically involve petroleum product storage tanks; terminal facilities; pipeline facilities and our network of pipelines.
- The Continuous Improvement Representative (CI Rep) is the primary person responsible for coordinating and completing the L3S improvement initiatives and supporting project groups in the implementation of existing processes (e.g., Marathon Project Management Process (MPMP), Construction Quality Management (CQM), Design Review).
- The Continuous Improvement Representative (CI Rep) also monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Based in Findlay, Ohio. Other MPC locations may be approved by exception.
- Part time opportunity twenty (20) to thirty-five (35) hours per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support assigned project implementation group by providing guidance on processes, answering questions, coaching, and supporting project management processes and cultural items (e.g., Design Review, MPMP, Change Management, CQM, Balanced Cost Culture, Procore).
- Hold check-ins with Supervisors and Manager and as needed with Project Leaders.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MPMP and project management processes.
- Train and assist Project Leaders and Stakeholders in executing processes.
- Act as the voice and point of contact for L3S CI Community of Practice (COP) and provide regular updates to the management team.
- Support the Strategic Plan for L3S by participating in L3S Strategic Planning & Goals meetings throughout the year and implementing identified improvement goals.
- Act as champion of change for L&S and understand L3S processes, standards, and project management requirements
- Communicate effectively, particularly in public speaking and face-to-face communication.
- Provide meaningful and constructive feedback to develop and improve processes.
- Obtain buy-in and perspective from all department groups/representatives to drive a consistent global/departmental solution for initiatives vs. individual group solutions and variation.
- Manage competing priorities from multiple stakeholders with little to no direction.
- Maintain process documents (Management System Docs, Governing Documents, tools, etc.) incorporating feedback from reporting, Business Partners, Project Leaders, and Supervisors.
- Support the maintenance of repeatable project templates, Procore Action Plans, and MPMP Process Maps.
- Develop technology solutions to increase project management efficiency (e.g. utilize Procore tools to streamline processes).
- Utilize data and reporting (e.g. Power BI) to develop project management insights and tools.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree - engineering OR other discipline
- Three (3+) years of project management related experience
- Travel - up to 10%
Preferred Skills
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI) and process improvement tools (e.g. Visio) preferred.
- Experience with Procore or other data management platform preferred.
