Responsibilities:
- A Site Contracts Manager typically oversees the management and administration of contracts at construction or project sites.
- They work with project teams, contractors, vendors, and clients to ensure that all contracts are executed properly and according to legal and company standards.
- Contract Management: Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts for construction, procurement, and services. Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Oversight: Establish and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and project timelines.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to contract execution and develop mitigation strategies to protect project integrity and cost-effectiveness.
- Budget & Cost Control: Monitor contract budgets, approve expenditures, and manage cost variations while ensuring compliance with financial guidelines.
- Compliance & Legal Coordination: Ensure all contracts comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies. Work closely with legal teams to resolve any contractual disputes.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of contracts, amendments, and approvals. Provide regular reports on contract status, financials, and performance metrics.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and senior leadership to align contract strategies with project goals.
- Change Management: Manage change orders, claims, and contract modifications, ensuring they are properly documented and approved.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8-10 years' experience in contract management. Preferred 12-15+ years of experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management, business administration, law, or a related field. A professional certification in contract management or law (e.g., Certified Commercial Contracts Manager - CCCM) is a plus.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in contract management, with a focus on construction or project sites.
- Prior experience in biomass, renewable energy, or heavy industrial construction projects.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of contract law, construction contracts, procurement procedures, and risk management.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
- Proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Working Conditions:
- The role may involve on-site visits and may require travel depending on the location of the project.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
