Assembly Technician (Temporary Assignment)Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a Contracted Assembly Technician to join our team. Employment terms are in 3 month increments or until hired permanently. ESAero is a growing aerospace company in the San Luis Obispo area and provides various services which include but are not limited to: rapid system development, on-demand niche engineering, hands-on development/testing, and small UAS aerospace system manufacturing.**This position is fully on-site at Empirical System's Aerospace in San Luis Obispo, CAEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in the fabrication and assembly of prototypes and production partsHelp to create build documentation and instruction of assembliesAssist in developing shop capabilitiesAssist the engineers as they create, modify & test products and processesAssist the engineers/run testingHelp to create solutions to complex technical problemsBuild and set up equipmentUtilize machining tools to modify and create partsAnalyze operations and offer suggestions for improvement.Required Qualifications and Skills:Quick learner, hard-working with skilled handsTechnical hands-on capability with attention to detail. Including but not limited to: wiring, soldering, parts fabrication, assembly, and general shop work/maintenanceRead CAD drawings, engineering sketches communicate challenges to small engineering teamsAbility to collaborate and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to verbally communicate, read and comprehend written and verbal instructions, and be capable of doing basic mathematical calculationsProficiency and experience with machining tools and operationsA willingness to learn and work overtime when required.Ability to handle multiple assigned tasksSelf-motivated and must be able to work with a minimum of supervisionExcellent work ethic and attendance2+ years of experienceUS CitizenHigh school diploma.A valid driver's license.Desired Qualifications and Skills:Associate's Degree in Engineering TechnologyExperience in CompositesExperience with aircraft avionicsCertifications in IPC and J-STDExperience assembling complex UASExperience in a manufacturing environmentTechnical Writing: Build guides, schematics, wiring diagrams, reporting/reviewing, etc...Experience with parts and inventory management5+ years of experienceStandard Benefits:Casual dress code, Free snacksAmazing location to live, work, and playESAero is an equal opportunity employer.E-Verify participation required for employment.Must be able to pass background check.Must present proof of authorization to work in the United States.Hiring Range: $22-$36/hourPowered by JazzHR
