Join Our Team as a Control Systems Engineer!
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Control Systems Engineer to champion safety and excellence in our workplace. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the reliable performance of control systems within our operations, while fostering a culture of safety.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Managing the functionality of the mill's control systems hardware and software.
- Providing mentorship and support to fellow engineers and technicians.
- Establishing and maintaining efficient record-keeping systems for your areas of responsibility.
- Assisting in troubleshooting maintenance and process issues, including root cause failure analysis (RCFA).
- Overseeing alarm management activities to ensure optimal operations.
- Leading the implementation of Instrument and Electrical Precision Maintenance (IEPM) initiatives throughout the mill.
- Supporting process and environmental systems maintenance.
- Collaborating with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and repair controls and instrumentation issues.
- Working with operations to improve operator pages and becoming familiar with graphics construction.
- Driving process optimization through the development of innovative control strategies.
- Being available for weekend and after-hours technical support and leadership during startup activities.
The Skills You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in a continuous process industry.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in process control or process engineering.
- Strong understanding of controls engineering fundamentals and control systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to thrive in a diverse, non-union environment.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to navigate across various stakeholder groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Proficiency in computer skills and the ability to deliver results through collaboration.
- Capacity to excel with minimal supervision in a team-oriented setting.
