Join Our Team as a Control Systems Engineer!

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Control Systems Engineer to champion safety and excellence in our workplace. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the reliable performance of control systems within our operations, while fostering a culture of safety.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Managing the functionality of the mill's control systems hardware and software.
  • Providing mentorship and support to fellow engineers and technicians.
  • Establishing and maintaining efficient record-keeping systems for your areas of responsibility.
  • Assisting in troubleshooting maintenance and process issues, including root cause failure analysis (RCFA).
  • Overseeing alarm management activities to ensure optimal operations.
  • Leading the implementation of Instrument and Electrical Precision Maintenance (IEPM) initiatives throughout the mill.
  • Supporting process and environmental systems maintenance.
  • Collaborating with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and repair controls and instrumentation issues.
  • Working with operations to improve operator pages and becoming familiar with graphics construction.
  • Driving process optimization through the development of innovative control strategies.
  • Being available for weekend and after-hours technical support and leadership during startup activities.

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in a continuous process industry.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in process control or process engineering.
  • Strong understanding of controls engineering fundamentals and control systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to thrive in a diverse, non-union environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to navigate across various stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and the ability to deliver results through collaboration.
  • Capacity to excel with minimal supervision in a team-oriented setting.
