CONTROLLER - North Shore Steel : Job Details

We are seeking adriven Controller to take on a leadership role in overseeing and enhancing the accounting operations across North Shore Steel's portfolio of companies in east Houston. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in driving financial success across our portfolio of companies and will have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the enterprise.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manufacturing Controller to join a dynamic team and make a meaningful impact on the financial operations of our portfolio of companies!

Responsibilities:

* Lead the production, analysis, and distribution of the company's consolidated financial statements

* Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes for accurate and timely financial reporting

* Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP accounting standards and maintain awareness of changes in accounting rules and guidelines

* Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets

* Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team

* Collaborate with external auditors and oversee the audit process

* Spearhead the implementation of manufacturing accounting principles across the enterprise and enhance managerial accounting processes and procedures

* Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures while maintaining a high level of accuracy

* Support the implementation of a new ERP system

* Assist with other duties as needed such as federal, state, and local tax reporting, and other ad hoc requests

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting

* Active CPA license highly preferred

* Minimum 10 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity

* Must have some accounting experience within the manufacturing industry

* Proficiency in MS Office, including advanced knowledge of Excel

* Experience in implementing an ERP system

* Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and develop a team

* Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
