Buck Mason is looking for a Controller who has genuine passion that goes beyond just numbers. This candidate enjoys going beyond the traditional controller tasks and enjoys doing FP&A work. This candidate will report to the Director of Finance and be a crucial right-hand partner by managing the Accounting department.Responsibilities:
- Own the month-end close process and responsible for all financial accounting functions.
- Improve and evolve ways of existing accounting processes, and manage implementation of any new accounting process as the business grows and expands.
- Manage and report on all fabric and raw materials, and own reconciliation between accounting and supply chain team to ensure maximum usage of all fabric and raw material assets.
- Issue and prepare timely and accurate financial reports by business channels and units.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reporting across multiple different expenditures within the business; payroll reporting, R&D reporting, freight reporting, ship from store reporting.
- Capital Expenditures reporting, and other reporting needs for the business.
- Review and manage all general ledger activity across all entities within the company.
- Review and process payroll for the entire company, in tandem with HR team.
- Manage reconciliation of fabric level.
- Manage ASC842 on a quarterly basis.
- Drive the enhancement of internal ERP system with our accounting system to automate posting to our general ledger.
- Assist in the creation of a formalized budget, and provide monthly budget trackers across all departments (tracking actuals vs budget and effects vs projected financial results).
- Manage the Annual Review with our Audit Firm, and the annual tax compliance filings with outside CPA Firm, including PBC list coordination and delivery.
- Manage and lead the Accounting Team, and ensure an entrepreneurial and growth-minded culture within the entire team.
- Assist/own ad-hoc cross-functional projects and ERP enhancement projects.
- Enforce accounting methods, policies and principles within GAAP.Requirements:
- This role is in office full-time.
- BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
- 8+ years of accounting experience.
- 5+ years of leading a team.
- Highly capable of being independent, problem-solving, and making day-to-day decisions for the department.
- Not only incredible analytical skills but incredibly strong communication skills; able to explain the most complicated analytical information to a toddler.
- Must have Netsuite experience.
- Experience with multiple entity structures and intercompany.
- Highly motivated, capable of thriving under pressure, and insanely focused on evolving the department and driving change as the business continues to grow.
