Metals USA, Plates & Shapes - Port City Metal Services has an opening for a Controller reporting to the division/group controller for the Tulsa, OK location. The Controller is responsible for the overseeing of financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting and compliance for an $80M sales manufacturing facility.Responsibilities
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates all financial operational functions.
  • Provides accurate and timely dissemination of financial information including, but limited to, internal and external monthly, quarterly, and financial reports, various government reports, audit, and Corporate and Division requests.
  • Manages the activities of the accounting department team of five to ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable/receivables, payroll processing, capital spending and tax compliance.
  • Serves as the locations Credit Manager ensuring compliance with the Company's Credit Policy and participate as an active member of the Companies Credit Committee.
  • Oversees and ensures compliance with all Company Policies and regulatory agencies to include Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), State of Oklahoma etc.
  • Provides technical financial advice and assistance routinely to other departments within the location.
  • Performs routine self-audits within the location to ensure adherence of acceptable accounting practices.
  • Serves as the primary accounting liaison to the Companies legal department for NDA's contracts etc.
  • Implements, documents, and maintains an adequate and effective set of internal controls to include, but not limited to employee system access review, and segregation of duties.
  • Approves all ERP System revisions and upgrades.
  • Observes and certifies annual physical inventory.
  • Spearheads internal audits with corporate and external auditors; provides the required selection documentation as requested, and responses effectively to all inquiries.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or Business Administration and CPA or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience with revenue and expense control, financial reporting, and/or job cost/manufactured products
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting standards
  • Experience in US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) reporting and compliance
  • Strong analytical & organizational skills with ability to make sound decisions utilizing the available data
  • Must complete pre-employment drug screening
