Controller - STAND 8 Technology Consulting : Job Details

STAND 8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States and with offices in LA, Atlanta, New York, Raleigh, and more. We are a cloud-based solution provider for food safety and quality assurance compliance, offering a proven solution that helps food companies around the world manage risk across their food supply chains. This newly established role will be a key member of the Executive Team, overseeing the Accounting Team, driving special financial projects, and collaborating with the Executive and Operations Teams on financial reporting and controls. The position also plays a critical role in recommending and implementing enhanced policies, procedures, and system improvements. As the Controller, you will oversee the company's financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and implement processes that support scalability and growth. You will lead the Accounting Team, manage the monthly close process, and provide financial insights that drive strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Collaborate with the Executive Team to provide financial insights that support strategic planning and growth initiatives.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, internal controls, and scalable financial processes to support the company's growth.
• Lead financial audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
• Monitor and analyze key SaaS metrics, including ARR/MRR, churn, CLTV, CAC, and revenue recognition.
• Ensure compliance with ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and other relevant SaaS accounting standards.
• Partner with the Revenue Operations Team to streamline billing and subscription management processes.
• Manage and mentor the Accounting Team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of accounting staff.
• Evaluate and implement accounting systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Partner with IT to ensure the integration of financial systems with other operational tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role, ideally in a SaaS or tech environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, ASC 606, and other relevant accounting standards.
• Experience with financial systems, ERP software, and SaaS-specific tools.
• Proven ability to manage audits, compliance processes, and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Additional Details

The base salary range for this position is $120K - $140K annually, depending on experience.

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
