The Controller will support the company's accounting operations, including managing offshore accounting partners, accounting for multiple partnership entities, and ensuring accurate shared services allocations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in multi-entity accounting, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate must reside in California, be willing to travel to Vine's San Jose office and restaurants as needed for meetings and operational needs, and report directly to the Vice President of Finance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation required
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, with at least 3 years experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, experience with POS systems, and widely-used accounting/general ledger software (experience with Sage Intacct is a plus)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
  • Manage all facets of accounting operations, including general ledger oversight, month-end close processes, financial reporting, cash flow management, and adherence to GAAP standards
  • Collaborate with VP Finance and Executive leadership to develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with department heads and provide financial projections and analysis to guide strategic decision-making
  • Oversee and coordinate relationships with offshore accounting teams, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting
  • Optimize and manage working capital, ensuring efficient use of cash resources while minimizing financial risk
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry-specific financial reporting requirements
  • Deliver financial updates and insights to investors and restaurant partners, building trust and ensuring transparency
  • Implement and optimize accounting software and other tools to streamline financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes
  • Prepare and manage annual audits, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and establish internal controls, including the preparation of quarterly and year-end K-1 reports for investors

The target salary range for this role is $120k - $130k based on skills and experience.
