Job DescriptionPosition Name: Cook 1 - Lead Cook Location: Jekyll Island, GA Compensation: $20.00/hour Sign On Bonus: $500.00 About us: The Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island is opening a new restaurant that is set to redefine dining on the island. Our coastal open-air restaurant will showcase regional seafood and ingredients, providing a unique dining experience for our guests. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that will make a mark on the island's restaurant scene. Job Description:

• The first 3 weeks will focus on training, obtaining ServeSafe Food Handler and TIPs certifications, and getting oriented into our company culture/operating guidelines.
• Upon restaurant opening, responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • Prepare high skilled, high quality foods for guests based on established standards
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Ensure food production is consistent with the established menu and recipes
  • Control quality, consistency, taste and food cost
  • Communicate all relevant information to management regarding: Ordering, Food preparation, Staff, equipment, safety and sanitation, guest feedback.
  • Be up to date on all guest services, promotions and events in the Hotel

  • You are the key member making a mark on our guest experience by making them feel welcomed, comfortable and attended to

• Must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time without sitting or leaning.
• Prior experience as a cook in a restaurant setting is required
• Hotel experience a plus
• High school diploma required/GED
• Culinary degree a plus
• Long hours sometimes required
• Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms
• Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels
• Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range
• Ability to walk long distances
• Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
