Sunnyside Care Center is actively seeking experienced Cooks to join our dietary team where you will be responsible for providing quality meals to support our patients and residents.

Responsibilities
- Prepare all food in sufficient quantities, according to written recipes, production sheets and menus
- Handle food in accordance with sanitary standards
- Sample food items for each meal and assure high quality products
- Prevent food waste
- Help rotate and put away stock
- Directly responsible for the care and cleanliness of equipment in cook's immediate area
- Follow dietary policies with reference to washable apparel, hairnets, clean cut nails, etc…
- Take daily food temperatures and complete mock trays when scheduled
- Take temperatures of walk-in cooler, freezer and side by side refrigerator daily
- Identify and date leftover food
- Rotate and use leftovers skillfully
- Prepare steam table and provides all items listed on the menu with proper serving utensils.
- Participates in set up of special buffets, parties, etc…
- Assist with development and implementation of departmental goals, policies, and procedures
- Provide back-up coverage for the department head and the dietary staff as needed
- Supervises all dietary aides
- Follow sanitation and safety guidelines when storing stock
- Follow all sanitation and safety policies and procedures
- Performs any and all other duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Nutritional Services

- Ability to lift items weighing 10 or more pounds
- Required to work weekends as scheduled
