Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, dietary guidelines, and residents' preferences.
• Menu Planning: Assist in planning nutritious and appealing menus that meet the dietary needs of residents, including special diets.
• Sanitation: Ensure that all food preparation areas and kitchen equipment are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, following health and safety regulations.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and ingredients, reporting any shortages to the supervisor and assisting with ordering as needed.
• Food Service: Serve meals in a timely manner and ensure that food is presented attractively.
• Dietary Compliance: Follow dietary restrictions and preferences for residents, including allergies and cultural considerations.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with dietary and nursing staff to ensure that residents' nutritional needs are met.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a cook in a healthcare or senior living setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and prepare a variety of meals.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; culinary training or certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed for food preparation and service.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending during food preparation and service.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Capable of performing repetitive tasks and physically demanding duties throughout the shift.
