Incumbents must be able to operate cutters and slicers, handle knives, lift heavy weights (up to 60 lbs.) and work under conditions of high heat and humidity. Duties include supervision of institutional residents or inmates in work situations.Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent AND one (1) year or more of experience in volume cooking.ORHigh School diploma or equivalent AND completion of a high school level culinary arts career preparation program.ORCompletion of a formal course in commercial food preparation.Special RequirementsNote: Incumbents employed by the Vermont Veterans' Home, River Valley Therapeutic Residence and Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital must be ServSafe Certified within the first six months of employment.Total CompensationAs a State employee you are offered a great career opportunity, but it's more than a paycheck.
