Cook - Goddard School : Job Details

The Goddard School on Western is looking for an energetic, professional cook to add to our faculty! Daily Responsibilities: * Follow a pre-made menu using pre-written recipes with efficiency * Maintain knowledge of children's allergies and the ability to accommodate restrictions of children enrolled in school * Prepare and deliver food for 200+ students to multiple classrooms following a daily schedule * Ability to work independently and under the instruction of our Kitchen Manager * Ensuring food items are always in compliance with state and federal regulations * Complying with all applicable laws and regulations relating to food handling * Calculate portion sizes according to state regulations * Maintain the overall cleanliness in the kitchen and applicable appliances * Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients prior to prepping or serving * Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes * Unboxing and organizing food items for future use * Store leftover inventory appropriately according to state and federal guidelines * Execute opening and closing procedures Required Experience: * Food Service Certification or willingness to complete upon hiring * Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals * A high school diploma or equivalent * Must be at least 21 years of age * Willing to undergo a background check
