Valley View Manor is looking for a Cook to join our team! The ideal candidate for this position has previous cooking experience, enjoys working in a busy environment, and is capable of taking directions well and multi-tasking effectively. Hours:

• Full or Part Time available
• AM and PM Shifts available
• Every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Report to and follows directions from Chef Manager

• Maintain accurate food counts.

• Will prep meals following Facility Recipes

• Rotate stock items as per procedures

• Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift

• Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures and by following food, health, and safety procedures

• Prepares items to be used for next day's meals

• Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts

The ideal candidate will have:

• The ability to read and follow standardized recipes

• High school education or equivalent.

• Ability to read, write and speak in English effectively to use recipes, prepare meals, and communicate effectively.

• Three years of food service experience in a healthcare setting is preferred

• Serv Safe Certification preferred

• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere

• Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
