What you will doWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook Food Service Worker to join our team at Branson School. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to students, staff, and visitors, ensuring a high standard of food quality and safety. This role requires a passion for cooking, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to the outlined menu, ensuring they are nutritious and appealing.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, following all food safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and checking deliveries for quality and accuracy.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
  • Serving Meals: Serve meals to students, staff, and visitors in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of food usage, inventory, and any incidents related to food safety.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff and school personnel to ensure smooth operation of the food service program.
  • Customer Service: Address any questions or concerns from students, staff, and visitors regarding the food service.
What you will need
  • 18 years or older, pending specific state requirements.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card.
  • Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check, California fingerprinting and background, drug screen, and TB testing in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations.
  • Ability to provide documents for work authorization. We utilize E-Verify, an online system that allows us to confirm the eligibility of our employees to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
Physical and Sensory RequirementsRequires mobility to stand and walk extensively during meal preparation and service. Lifting boxes, up to 25 pounds. Pushing/Pulling Food Hot Boxes up to 50 pounds. Bending and stooping for access to carts, food, trays, and other kitchen equipment. Manual dexterity for the use of kitchen utensils and tools. Visual acuity for reading menus, labels, and directions. Hearing ability to respond to verbal communications. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Taste and Smell to assess food quality, freshness, and adherence to dietary requirements.
