Job Title: Polyworks CMM Programmer (Leica)

Department: Quality

Summary: Program and operate (CMM) coordinate measuring machines including Leica with scanning technology, and other portable CMMs with use of Polyworks software. Approves the start of production through dimensional measurement of sample parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops, qualifies, and maintains CMM programs.
  • Inspects and approves first piece at start of production.
  • Inspects and approves final inspections prior to delivery.
  • Reads blueprints to determine specifications and tolerances for a variety of milled, and fabricated weldments.
  • Ensures that containment activities take place when discrepancies are identified.
  • Work with Production leads to relay and interpret inspection findings.
  • Review and refine data collection requirements according to customer drawings, models, work orders, purchase orders, sketches and PPAP requirements.
  • Participates in the corrective action and preventative action processes.
  • Participates in Gage R & R Studies.
  • Utilizes a wide variety of inspection tools to complete dimensional reports.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma and three to five years related experience. GD&T experience for print reading. Basic caliper, micrometer, and bore gage knowledge.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram format. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
