Job Description Purpose of Position: This class of positions encompasses supervisory or administrative work of varying degrees of difficulty and with varying degrees of latitude for independent initiative and judgment as follows: 1. For activities of professional and non-professional staff in delivering a health therapy program and support services including physical, occupational, inhalation specialties, radiological, laboratory, emergency, ambulatory care services, medical utilization review and quality assurance. 2. Coordinates rehabilitation services, as indicated so as to integrate these programs with other healthcare setting programs to maximize patient treatment and recovery. Coordinates supervise and monitors medical utilization review and/or quality assurance programs for health care settings. 3. For planning, controlling, coordinating administrative and office operations and interpreting compliance with predetermined standards for quality care in a variety of organizational settings and modalities in the delivery of business, office and management support systems. Integrates and coordinates these programs, operations, functions and services with other health care settings and Central Office departments to optimal levels of performance in the administration and supervision of such functional activities Virtual Express Care: Reporting to the Director for the service line, the Coordinating Manager Level B will be responsible for the daily operation of administration, including administrative and operational workflows and will have day-to-day responsibility over clerical staff (e.g. registration, financial counseling) functioning in the ExpressCare telehealth call center operation. This role will execute policies and operational practices that are consistent with the goals of Virtual ExpressCare. The Coordinating Manager will foster an environment of team work and collaboration and ensure successful daily operations that will result in a positive patient care experience. Assignment Level B Under direction and with wide latitude for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment, directs and/or coordinates the administration aspects of the department and performs some of the duties described in Level A, above.
- Ensures that compliance manuals are current and that policies and procedures are followed.
- May represent the Department Administrator in external contacts with community groups, organizations, and agencies.
- Supervises the office administration and office record-keeping activities of the department.
- Is responsible for employee supervision, performance, and employee development of assigned personnel in areas of responsibility and accountability.
- Supervises the preparation and publication of operational manuals and procedures.
- Oversee and handle day-to-day operations of VEC while supervising the performance and development of Level Ill/IV Clerical Associates in areas of responsibility and accountability.
- Assist in planning for the department through consultation with management in order to coordinate joint patient and management objectives - review departmental reports for accuracy and initiate procedures to resolve deficiencies.
- Ensure daily patient calls/registrations are handled in accordance with agreed-upon workflows and scripts.
- Develop and conduct training programs for new hires and maintain the proficiency of current staff for updated workflows.
- Oversee financial counseling - responsible for screening uninsured or underinsured patients to identify health insurance or financial assistance eligibility.
- Assign and schedule staff based on operational needs and patient flow.
- Manage payroll, timekeeping, and employee yearly evaluation documents when required.
Minimum Qualifications 1. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling; and 2. Two (2) years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment, one (1) year of which included experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in suchoccupations as physical, occupational, inhalation, speech and audiology therapy or as Medical/Laboratory Technologist, Microbiologist (various specialties), Chemist (biochemist), Radiation and X-Ray Technician; or two (2) years of responsible level experience in business management systems or general administration including one (1) year in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or 3. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines listed in 1 above; and 4. Three (3) years of full-time experience, as described in 2 above, including two (2) years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations, as listed in 2 above; or 5. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
