Harlem Hospital Center has been a bedrock of the Harlem community since 1887. The hospital provides a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic and family support services to the residents of Central Harlem, West Harlem, Washington Heights and Inwood. To ensure metrics for patient access, and accounts receivables resulting in revenue capture. The Coordinating Manager is responsible for identifying and creating training programs and references.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSummary of Duties and Responsibilities:Follows all Finance procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and skills in accomplishing the following, but not limited to:
  • Manage Central Office Led Facility Finance Projects, and initiatives
  • Supervise the Correspondence Unit
  • Ensure that the correspondence is scanned, distributed, and documented in Epic in a timely manner
  • Manage Revenue Cycle WQs
  • Communicating with managers to identify training needs for teams and individuals.
  • Manage, and review 180+ accounts in Epic
  • Review Bad debt for Legacy cases to ensure payments were made
  • Review Variance, Credit Balance, Underpayment, and Overpayment Workques
  • Daily monitoring of the Epic Watch lists and send notice to owning areas
  • Interact with other departments to complete billing on accounts
  • Refer accounts requiring escalation to Patient Account Manager in a timely manner
  • Attend all necessary training sessions to effectively perform the day-to-day functions of the position
  • Coordination of periodic management-designated projects.
  • Provides ongoing support by evaluating (under management supervision), advising, training, and assisting staff in meeting departmental goals, in accordance with departmental policy/procedure.
  • Carries out all managerial directives, within an acceptable or provided timeframe.
  • Promote a positive and pleasant attitude conducive to the workplace, which enhances and furthers the Mission, Vision and Value Statements.
  • Meet all compliance standards/requirements such as annual physical assessment, Multi-Star training; Right to Know; Fire Drill participation, etc.
  • Be responsible for enhancing my personal and professional development through attendance at outside and NYC Health + Hospitals Harlem training sessions.
  • Be responsible for wearing professional attire to the workplace as well as during offsite work when conducting business on behalf of the NYC Health + Hospitals Harlem.
  • Exhibit flexibility within the NYC Health + Hospitals Harlem as it pertains to work assignment, work place, site designation and Tour of Duty.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and hospital records; uses discretion when discussing patient and hospital, matters.
  • Addresses patients, visitors, and co-workers in a respectful manner.
  • Answers informational requests with courtesy, accuracy, and respect for confidentiality.
  • Conforms to established time and leave regulations and policies; provides proper notification for absences and tardiness.
Assignment Level B Under direction and with wide latitude for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment, directs and/or coordinates the administration aspects of the department and performs some of the duties described in A above.Minimum QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public or Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling; and2. Three (3) years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment, two (2) years of which included experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in such occupations as physical, occupational, inhalation, speech and audiology therapy or as Medical/Laboratory Technologist, Microbiologist (various specialties), Chemist (biochemist), Radiation and X-Ray Technician; or three (3) years of responsible level experience in business management systems or general administration including two (2) years in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or3. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in 1 above; and4. Two (2) years of full-time experience, as described in 2 above, plus one (1) year of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations, as listed in 2 above; or5.
